Selections for the 2008 CHW Values in Action awards were recently announced. These awards honor individuals from our hospital who personify CHW’s core values. Kassie Waters, Nurse Manager for the Medical/Surgical wing was the overall winner.

Crystyl Hollister from Emergency Services was selected for Excellence – “she is always willing to go above and beyond her job, her department and for MTSJH. Crystyl is a light who when others see her are motivated to be more like her.”

CeeCee McPherson from Case Management was selected for Dignity – “Through her work she consistently demonstrates a commitment to improving the circumstances of all clients regardless of their situation.”

Evelia Ruiz from the Family Medical Center in Angels Camp was selected for Collaboration – “Because of her work ethic, teamwork and overall kindness to the patients she…goes out of her way to assist her coworkers with difficulties they may be having while never neglecting her own patient’s needs.”

Karen Bishop, Nurse Auditor, was selected for Justice – “Karen seeks justice every day in helping Union employees and management ensure that MTSJH is run in the best possible manner and that all employees are treated with our core values.”

Dean White from Case Management was selected for Stewardship. “Dean enhances the work of any group in which he works. His integrity is unparalleled. He is constantly searching for ways to stretch funds or expand programs in a way that maximizes output while minimizing expenditures.”

Kassie Waters from Medical/Surgical was selected as this year’s awardee for all five values – “If you ask anyone, they will talk about her smile, her warmth, her advocacy for patients and her employees and her excellent work.”
