Types of Surgery Performed at MTSJH
The Surgical Services department includes both Inpatient and Outpatient Surgeries, Endoscopy and Central Processing. Inpatient and Outpatient Surgeries includes Laparoscopic procedures, Gynecology, Urology (including Lithotripsy), Orthopedics (including Spine, Total Joint Replacement and Arthroscopy of the Knee and Shoulder), Podiatry, and Ophthalmology (including cataract and blepharoplasty).
Services in the Outpatient Surgery Department include transfusions, chemotherapy, and antibiotic injections. Endoscopic Procedures include Colonoscopy, Gastroscopy, and Sigmoidoscopy. Central Processing is responsible for packaging and sterilizing the sterile instruments used in the surgical department, as well as other hospital departments and clinics, and physician offices.
