TWO SHOPS SERVE CALAVERAS COUNTY
The Mark Twain St. Joseph's Hospital Thrift
Shops came into existence in 1992 with the opening of the Angels
Camp shop. Valley Springs opened in 1996. Both shops
offer quality merchandise that has been donated by the residents of
Calaveras County and often receive donations from supporters who
have moved to other counties but still remember the good work done
by the shops.
The Thrift Shops depend on donations, and all
proceeds stay in the community. The profits are used for the
Endowment For Youth Program in which school supplies and other
school needs are met. The shops help people who are in need
of clothing or furniture because of a fire or other
emergency. The Thrift Shops co-sponsor the Harvest Health
& Fitness Festival, and the Kids Carnival at the Calaveras
County fair and donate to the CHP to help both children and adults
at Christmas.
The Angels Camp Thrift Shop is located at the
corner of Hwy. 49 and Hwy. 4 in Historic Downtown. The Valley
Springs Thrift Shop is located in the Mar-Val Shopping Center.
