Upon Your Arrival
To The Hospital
Patients should arrive at the hospital at
least 15 minutes prior to any scheduled tests to be registered.
-
The patient should sign in at the Information Desk with the
Auxiliary Volunteer. The Volunteer will need to know if
the patient has a scheduled appointment, the time of the
appointment, and what services (e.g. Lab, Stress Test, X-ray,
etc) the patient is scheduled for.
-
The patient will be seated until a Customer Service
Representative is free to register the patient. This is
an attempt to provide some privacy while registering.
-
At registration, the CSR will need to copy the patient's
insurance card (insurance companies require copies made for
each visit). A copy of the physician's orders for the
test being done will also be needed. This is required
by law - and must include the patient's diagnosis or ICD-9
code for lab tests.
-
After registration, the patient will be seated in the Lobby
and the appropriate Department will call his or her name.
-
Occasionally, an emergency patient is given precedence over a
scheduled patient, which may prolong the wait. Patients
are asked to notify the Auxiliary Volunteer if they have
waited longer than 30 minutes after being registered.
